When notifying users about torrent removals, the PMs should include the timestamp of the user's last announce for the specific torrent. This information will help users determine whether the torrent is still active in their client and needs to be manually removed, reducing unnecessary checks or confusion.

Example

Current PM:

"Our system shows that you were either the uploader, a seeder, or a leecher on said torrent. We just wanted to let you know you can safely remove it from your client."

Proposed PM:

"Our system shows that you were either the uploader, a seeder, or a leecher on said torrent. Your last announce for this torrent was X days/hours ago. You can safely remove it from your client if it is still active."

Benefits

  • Improves user experience by providing actionable information.
  • Reduces confusion about whether the torrent is still active.
  • Encourages better client management and cleanup practices.
