  • use snap!
    (for why, see below)

deb FAILS

  • deb files won't install via GUI on Ubuntu, basically with any program ever :(

flatpak FAILS

Terminal

  • flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

  • sudo flatpak install flathub us.zoom.Zoom

  • /opt/upgrade-non-packaged-zoom.sh
    upgrade-non-packaged-zoom.sh.zip

  • ~/Desktop/upgrade-zoom.desktop
    upgrade-zoom.desktop.zip

    • assumes mate-terminal
    • asks for sudo password

GUI

(Not tried yet)

  • sudo apt install gnome-software-plugin-flatpak
  • then try some GUI way of doing it.
