Custom Icon Conversion Program

As an advanced home-brewer I want a way to easily convert black and white image to suitable looks and formats to be able to paste them into my pilot and upgrade card creator so that the components get professional looks.

Try using vector graphis. The user can press a button to save a svg template ( A ring with nothing inside). Then the user can manipulate the file using incscape or similar tool. Then import the svg again in the tool. Maybe required to press a button to create the Upgrade Background Icon.

Or use Portrait (http://basement.cgjennings.ca/DIY+Portraits&structure=Developer+Manual) functionality to convert image to x-wing icons and upgrade card backgrounds. Use a round cutout to designate the size of the icon. Add "ring" to the icon and convert it to different icons:
Pilot cards and Huge Ship cards: up to 2 custom icons. Result is of course white icon and ring on black background.
Upgrade cards: up to 1 custom icon. Result is black icon and ring with transparent background, and big upgrade card back icon with gold 3D look (see https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yuXqv4ShXINY0MFYAmTunCAiLRQT5i5SoEXhgT_IdHM)

Use ImageMagick.
