HDV Task: Investigate the Annotated Research Context (ARC) framework for relevance to GREI

Overview

• The Annotated Research Context (ARC) "is a framework for organizing and documenting research data, as well as a container that continuously supports collaboration, data exchange, and adherence to FAIR principles among various researchers. The ARC can be checked for completeness and quality at any time and converted into a citable data publication without interrupting the research or documentation process. It is built on widely accepted research data standards such as RO-Crate, ISA, and abstract CWL."
• This task is to investigate and evaluate the ARC Framework's relevance to GREI data packaging needs, and its value for potentially complementing our use of RO-Crate and Bagit.

Deliverables

• Brief document outlining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges associated with the ARC framework. Document should also include recommendations for next steps if any (e.g., table until more mature, create implementation plan, etc.)
