Events should have start and end times

Start and end are nice, but should include times.

It should also work smoothly in the HTML form.

Whoever implements this, don't forget about handling time zone issues either.

If possible, this would need to be flexible enough to handle separate start and end times on separate days like a school fair.

That's not a bad idea, but would have to extend the events model with something like "Days" that would belong to it.

Better than that would be something like event "itinerary items" that could, for example, make up many conference sessions that could even overlap. Or for bracketed sporting event management, handle multiple teams in different brackets competing simultaneously.
