With the initial release of InstaWP Connect now being available, let's look at how the desire to tinker with a sites code can be offloaded to a staging site with a good onboarding process through the String Locator plugin.
Initial considerations and thoughts;
It should be a non-intrusive action, meaning it should not prevent any action, but rather encourage the user to consider the alternate routes. Staging sites are always recommended over direct edits of a production site after all.
If a user does opt for a staging site, they should have to do as few steps as possible to make this reality.
Can we auto-install the plugin on user-action, and be compliant with the guidelines?
Can the stage-setup be triggered externally somehow, so one click gets you the plugin and sets up the staging site?
Can we move the user directly to the same screen on the stage-site post-setup if initiated through the String Locator plugin?
