Oh, and I also noticed that you can compress a folder with windws explorer and then compress it even further with compactGUI. And, if you uncompress it, you arr still left with the NTFS-compressed folder, instead of the original size folder. |

and another thing, compactGUI will not uncompress a folder that has been previously compressed using windows explorer (checking the check box next to "compress to save disk space") |

Explorer only checks for one or two types of compression, it doesn't check for all. Not much the program can do about it |

thanks! I was under the impression that CompactGUI was just another way of doing the same thing windows explorer does when compressing. |

The only thing I "don't like" is that there's no easy way to tell wether s/thing is compressed or not, unlike explorer's compression, which shows compressed files in a different color... |

Oh, and another thing you can't do is compress indivual files or sets of files, you must compress a whole folder... |

I found another issue, whenever you compact a folder, if you add new files or update the files inside the folder, they're not compressed automatically, like windows explorer does, you have to re-compress manually. |

Hi, I recently discovered CompactGUI and I'm giving it a try. I am pleasantly surprised so far.
But, I have a question, when you compress a folder with compactUI, windows explorer doesn't show it in blue and if you look at the folder properties, windows explorer does not recognize the folder as "compressed" (the checkmark next to "compress to save space" is unchecked.
Is this normal? it's kinda difficult to know which folder is compressed with compactgui without having to check the folder properties and notice the assigned space is less that the actual size...
