Start thinking about performance

I am anticipating that on large sites that have been collecting usage stats for some time, the size of the islandora_usage_stats tables will make queries to populate charts slow. This issue tracks possible ways to mitigate this issue, should it become a problem:

• populate the block via Ajax, so it doesn't slow down page rendering
• cache results
• use master-slave replication

Started noticing that the collection stats block is causing collection browse pages to take a long time to render. I am thinking I will start looking into offering a caching option for this data.
