will there be a way to use softgpu on a real machine with win98 installed? It would solve the problem of the lack of 3D acceleration of video cards without 9x driver support
only win9x is missing to make my retrogaming machine perfect (up to PS2) and like me I think many others too.

I assume it can be adapted to work on real hardware, but only the softpipe/llvmlipe part which will use the CPU and thus will be so slow, that it won't be useful for games.
