Describe the bug
When setting the temperature limit to 90C on the lastest UXTU version, after a few minutes the laptop just straight up shuts down, and the next boot UXTU spits out the error "unable to apply parameter" and stops working until you reboot it.

weirdly enough for the few minutes it runs the temperature does get limited, however windows search stops functioning (and in fact windows stops recognizing keyboard inputs altogether (i.e can't use shrotcuts for taks manager, can't type in search etc.), however the keyboard works just fine in other apps (such as a browser) up until the laptop shuts down.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. have a laptop with a Ryzen 7 7745HX CPU (in my case a lenovo legion 5 pro gen 8, 16ARX8 82WM)
  2. Set the temperature limit
  3. while you wait do try to use windows search (you cannot)
4.wait a few minutes or run a benchmark (or both at the same time)
    Expected behaviour
Temperature gets limited to 90C, it does not shut down the laptop
    Screenshots
If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

Laptop (please complete the following information):

  • OS Version: Windows 10 22H2

Additional context
previous versions of UXTU would freeze the entire machine immediately as you applied the setting and you would need to force reboot it to make it work again, this time the setting does sort of work, but then a few minutes in the machine just shuts down without warning, like if it lost power.

runtime.log shows the following:

@JamesCJ60 adding additional context, the feature works perfectly well on 1.10 beta 5, it only crashes like this on versions above it
