current version used in JM is 1.0.18 which was released in 2019.

libsodium didn't have a release for a long time. They have had two new releases since 2023.

So maybe good to update to latest https://github.com/jedisct1/libsodium/releases/tag/1.0.20-RELEASE

(I did not check everything what has changed in the releases)
