Interface freezes after running for a while #142

I'm asynchronously pushing an image to my QML interface using the Julia display type. After a while the UI will sometimes become unresponsive, although all the elements themselves seem still responsive (clicking on buttons can still activate functions that print to the Julia terminal for example, but without any UI animation etc.)
