Ok so it seems it was working, after all, it's just the device I was testing with (tradfri motion) seems to have a link issue and wasn't responding fast enough so it looked like nothing was happening. Interestingly the tradfri sensors seems to be quite problematic I tried with another it also wasn't really working even 1ft away from the controller. I tested it with my Phillips Hue instead and it worked as expected - should have tested with that one first I guess. For anyone else whos having a similar experience. Look in Zigbee2Mqtt assistant and find a device with a strong link and recent connection to test on. In MQTT Explorer navigate to the zigbee2mqtt node then on the right had panel scroll down and you will see "Publish" with the topic/node you just selected prefilled. Here you want to change it to e.g. If you just see zigbee2mqtt/mydevicefriendlyname/ with the JSON data you posted ({"state": ""}) then your device is asleep and hasn't responded yet / or the friendly name is wrong (check zigbee2mqtt assistant) |

Hi there,
I have Zigbee2Mqtt setup on my Home Assistant box but I can't figure out how to configure the sensitivity of my device (Hue Motion). Or even see the devices in the MQTT Explorer. I've read all the info in the wikis but it doesn't seem to match up with what I'm seeing at my end.
I see nothing in the format zigbee2mqtt/FRIENDLY_NAME/ (i.e. no devices are shown) I just see zigbee2mqtt/state and zigbee2mqtt/log. I can see all the paired devices in Zigbee2Mqtt assistant within HomeAssistant and I can see the friendly names there. Plus all the devices are all working as expected within my Homekit environment.
I tried to publish to zigbee2mqtt/mydevicefriendlyname/get with the payload {"state": ""} in MQTT Explorers publish tab. But from what I can tell, nothing happens. Other than a new node turns up at zigbee2mqtt/mydevicefriendlyname and when I click on it I cant see anything useful it just seems to be a copy of the message I published {"state": ""}. So clearly I'm doing something wrong there.
Hoping someone is able to provide a quick guide on how to get and set a configuration item on a device using MQTT Explorer or point out where I'm going wrong? Many thanks in advance
