ledFX to zigbee2mqtt Bridge

Hi,

I've made an bash script that can be used to connect e.g. Philips Hue Color Lamps to ledFX.
If someone is interested I can post it here.

The mqtt broker I've used is mosquitto and all is on an Pi4.

The problem I've is, that zigbee2mqtt seems to buffer the messages, that can't be send fast enough. I found out that 6 fps is possible, but more will cause a long message queue and no reaction to current sound events.
@Koenkk Is it possible to set the length of the queue to zero, so that all messages will be discarded if not sent in time?

That would be a great feature.

I've double checked, that the broker is not queuing the messages, because after stopping it, the Lamps blinking did not stop, it only stopped after stopping the zigbee2mqtt service, so the buffer must be there.

Please help, that would be a great feature ;-)

Hi,

I would be interested to know more about this project.
Synchronizing ledfx strips with hue lights would be nice.
As I understand we cannot hope for fast light transitions over zigbee (although I saw mentions about hue "fast mode"), but maybe worth a try.

It's been a while and I am not sure it's working with the current Version, but it was this script.
It's receiving data sent by LedFX on Port 8889 (I am using the data from the middle of an LEDs Strip, that's the 60, 62 and 64 ColorData)

Smart implementation, simpler than I thought.

People from HyperHDR seem to face (and solve) the rate limitation you make reference to, see : awawa-dev/HyperHDR#1024

I mentionned your issue there, maybe it will make its way to Z2M at some point.

I also experienced queue overflow on Philips hue when changing colors too quickly from HA automations (HA>Mosquitto>Z2M>Spot).
