For any operation performed, whether applied to a dataset or executed purely speculatively, there should be reportable information produced.

Some basic ones to get rolling:

  • Level at which analysis was executed
  • Number of metadata overrides detected in input dataset
(metadata overrides will never occur in output datasets)
  • Total number of unique metadata files in input / output datasets
  • Total number of metadata fields within metadata files in input / output datasets
  • Total number of unique metadata field values in input / output datasets
(ie. if the same key-value pair occurs in more than one file, increment by 1 only)
