DirectX 9.0 Error #68

When I open the game, it whines at me saying "We are sorry, but you need to have DirectX 9.0b installed to run this program. Please run Halo PC setup again to install DirectX.", and have tried reinstalling the game, but alas, nothing. What do I do?

Check that the game isn't installed in program files, and make sure that you're running steam vr before starting the game. I've heard that this may fix the issue for people.

Try running it on a window set -window in the shortcut.
