Using attribute code is temperamental calling magento.catalogProductAttribute.list #24

I am using attribute codes to get info for multiple attributes.

magento.catalogProductAttribute.info({ attribute: val }, callback);

When using the attribute ID I receive a consistent response.

However when using the attribute code I receive either a response or error with no pattern.
