the current release for Linux does ship its own version of avrdude (and the arduino tools) with it. The current state is that this is a great idea, but senseless without all their library dependencies.
I'm currently trying to get mblock to run on an Arch Linux system, because the AUR package is out of date and throws some errors that I do not understand.
Anyways, I decided to let you know of this; and of the libraries that are missing in the resources/tools/arduino/tools/avr/lib folder are these:
libreadline.so.6 (and libhistory.so.6)
libncurses.so.5 (and its dependencies)
libtinfo.so.5 (and its dependencies)
(work in progress, I will update this issue when I make more progress)
