Hi @MathCancer ,

I want to work on the parallelization of PhysiCell using GPUs. I saw that there is a paper on the parallelization of BioFVM using OpenACC, but it was not integrated into this repository. I would like to know why that was the case.

I would also like to know if anyone is currently working on the same topic.

Best regards.

Hello, Just speaking for myself and not Profs Macklin or Chandrasekaran, I recall this being a fruitful, exploratory research project. If it could be updated and demonstrated to be an "add-on" approach to the standard build process for PhysiCell models, the core team of developers and larger community could evaluate it for being included in the development branch (before the main branch).

I'm unaware of other projects looking at OpenACC for PhysiCell, but we do have collaborators at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center working on an MPI implementation as well as an optimized CPU implementation.
