This project analyses a collection of PDF files which are the "Media Mentions" of my work. I try to only select pieces which are from outlets that meet the definition of "Mass Media", but of course such definitions are subjective.
I haven't put in much effort to categorise the pieces, I just use a standardised file name to capture the media source, publication date and media title.
The tool used is Power BI. This is an interactive data visualisation tool, that allows interactive filtering and exploration of the data.
I upload the PDF file for each new piece into the pdf-files sub-directory here in GitHub, and the Power BI logic constructs a URL link to that file. The GitHub project settings I have the Pages / Build and deployment / Branch set to: main /root, which publishes updates to https://mike-honey.github.io/ where they can be opened cleanly by any browser.
