Can you please change the JVM on the launcher to one you installed yourself? That's probably what is causing the problems.

I have the same issue, however I have no log nor any valid error code aside from "error code -1"

My game also doesn't open with PipeBlocker on 1.8.9, in other versions it works fine.
(I use Eclipse Adoptium 17 in newer MC versions)

JRE: Java 8, Update 381 (Oracle, "Windows Offline (64-bit)" from Java.com)
Launcher: PrismLauncher
SO: Windows 10 22H2

Here are some more details about this (copied from #16):

That's pretty interesting: If you compare the JRE that the official Minecraft launcher ships, there is no sun.misc.ObjectInputFilter (the left is the Minecraft-JRE, right is Temurin):

However, it is worth mentioning that it is nevertheless used in the code in many places such as the ObjectInputStream itself or java.rmi.server.UnicastRemoteObject (to list two)
