spin from #2

Another excellent addition would be to have a possibility to add simple, fixed-size, one-line notes :) One could insert them via clicking the place, then simple popup would appear. A note font would be the same size as the map labels (ie island names).

Why: on routine check I read the heading, speed at certain time ... and forget all in the instant. Next nav check I am trying to recall last check details :) Having my reading time/notes on the map would help a lot too.

Thanks a lot,
Astib

So I suppose this is already partially implemented with as the old point data popup. If you place a scatter or linked point and then click it again you can set some info, but it's not exactly freeform and only the position and colour affect anything. Maybe it would make sense to add a title and description box to this one? I'm not too fond of this menu in general tbh, it could use a complete rework.

There is the long term plan of adding dead reckoning prediction based on the last point data (wind, chip log speed, heading) that would actually try to figure out where the next point might be, so redesigning it with that in mind would be best.
