Inventory not working correctly

I’m playing on 1.20.1 on a mac and i use a ps5 controller via USB. When I open up my inventory and select an item and try to move it with my joystick cursor the item isn’t where my cursor is. For instance i’ll move my joystick cursor to my hot bar with an item selected and the item will be at the very far bottom of my screen. Nowhere near my hot bar. So it makes it impossible to be able to move items around in my inventory or when i craft etc. Please help!
