I have a general question about wind turbine tower simulation, although i am not using Openfast, but i might get some help.
I have a 6 MW wind turbine with a 162 m diameter rotor. I simplified the model and calculated the thrust force acting on tower as a point load by using actuator disk theory. It gives me 800 kN of force at rated wind speed. However, when i apply this thrust as point load to the tower, it gives me 3 meters of displacement which is not realistic. Does anybody has any idea how should i model this thrust force.?
