[Bug]: renaming tensorboard dir used to be fine, now it breaks

What happened?

I used to rename the tensorboard output directories mid-job no problem.
it would keep running, and I could refresh my browser, it would pick up the new name, and everythign was fine.

Now tensorboard crashes.. AND IT STOPS THE TRAINING RUN!!

(by that I mean:
cd blahblah/tensorboard
mv YYYY-MM-DD_HH_MM_SS nice-human-name-here )

What did you expect would happen?

things would keep working, like they used to.
