rel 4.5 with ESP8266 and WS2812 strips.

As the subject says. It actually flickers into incorrect colors too - flickers red at boot. . The rest of the chain behind and ahead of that particular LED is all good.

Wonder if it is a faulty LED? Should I switch it? (It is a chore to bring down the entire fixture and resolder that one strip. (My setup is in strips of 3, so I can switch that one strip fairly easily once brought down.

Any help appreciated.

Dont know about the software but used WS2812 leds in a few projects, and from what I have experienced is that often there can be one led in the chain that is faulty.
And yes often the leds after it work as expected due to the led not messing with the digital pin packets being sent through.

So I'd recommend replacing the led section or the whole strip of 3.
