I had a situation working with a customer where we were getting strange errors when running as a service account via Windows Scheduled Tasks.
It turned out that a system variable wasn't expanding correctly, but I had to add a lot of debug statements in to find it.
This PR attempts to capture the neat parts of that debugging, to surface errors to the user a bit better.
Please let me know if there's anything further that needs changing/adjusting to fit the style of the repo!
