Add error messages

The app doesnt output ANY errors.

I repeatedly get "update failed" but with no info whatsoever.

I am using the Flatpak on Almalinux, pip is not available so pynitrokey is not an option. Running the flatpak from the terminal doesnt give any errors either.

I wouldn't say "any", but get your point - for updates anyways the most common issue are missing permissions - on linux this mostly means missing udev rules: https://docs.nitrokey.com/software/nitropy/linux/udev did you add them as documented ?
