My printer(s) run Klipper btw. This crash happens for me only when both of the following are true:

The printer is powered on
I have configured its IP/hostname in orca-slicer

I 'm pretty sure it has to do with webkit trying to render MainSail's interface.

I believe that it crashes when trying to render MainSail's temperatures graph (even in the background, when the device tab is not selected). If, upon launching orca-slicer, you switch directly to the device tab you will see the interface loading until it tries to render the temperatures graph. At that point it crashes...

Even more weird, I have this exact webkit rendering issue (got the traceback in gdb). I backed up my config and then started orca-slicer from a fresh config, worked fine, then I put that exact same old config back that was previously crashing every time, and now it is working. 😕

Just to be clear, there's no new or old config here. I literally did:

orca-slicer # Crashes every time.
mv ~/.config/OrcaSlicer ~/.config/OrcaSlicer.back
orca-slicer # No crash
rm -rf ~/.config/OrcaSlicer
mv ~/.config/OrcaSlicer.back ~/.config/OrcaSlicer
orca-slicer # No crash? everything magically works now?

But yes, I have my printers network address set in my old config, and yes, my printer is on when I run orca-slicer.

I have the same error and no config at all (fresh install).
A quick note, the preview tab is completely blank. Normally there should be a blank printing plane, but no.
This is very likely a webview issue

Hi,

Same for me is crashing when you add Elegoo Neptune Pro 4 & connect Klipper.
But is working great with Bambu X1C no crash.
Im go to try to fix that.

I found a possible workaround (for bambu-studio which had the same issue):

nix --extra-experimental-features "nix-command flakes" run github:thiagokokada/nix-alien -- $(which orca-slicer)

nix-alien is a tool to automatically resolve missing dependencies. So if you have a simple white screen - this might be a possible workaround.

I couldn't test it on orca-slicer as at the moment of writing it doesn't even start. But I had the same issue on bambu studio and this solved it. For bambu studio, simply adjust the command

I found a possible workaround (for bambu-studio which had the same issue):
nix --extra-experimental-features "nix-command flakes" run github:thiagokokada/nix-alien -- $(which orca-slicer)
nix-alien is a tool to automatically resolve missing dependencies. So if you have a simple white screen - this might be a possible workaround.

This knowledge could be transferred to bambu studio as well.

But great that we all have a work around for the time being.
3D Printers are too big and expensive to be just decorative blocks in our homes 😆

Probably a different issue. With the current orcaslicer in nixpkgs, the preview window doesn't work and idk if slicing works. With nix-alien, everything except connecting to fluidd works. My current workaround is just to avoid setting printer url.
