Hmm? Why?

Seems silly having a blazing fast platform, then spending 15 seconds waiting for images and videos to load on a page. :)

15 seconds sound a lot. Perhaps, if it's a cache miss or something.

For lazy load: you can turn lazy-loading of Iframely hosted iFrames in your account's API settings. For native embeds, I trust NodeBB lazy-loads the messages, and this includes the iFrames within it then, no?
