The new batteries are 53V and the OBC maxes our at 48V. We need to either add it to the 12V circuit, or add a stepdown voltage converter. One consideration is if the OBC operates "better" (more capable/performant) at a slightly higher voltage?
It looks like if we want to run the OBC with the expansion PCIe card installed, we need 20-48V, so running it on the 12V circuit won't work. This is the bit that says that on the website linked above:
12-48 VDC 20-48 VDC (when configured with PCIe expansion 70W or above)
So I ordered another DC DC converter - this one. It will step the voltage down to 24V.
