Standardized Vocabularies

The table below lists all the vocabularies available in the OHDSI Standardized Vocabularies. Vocabularies are either imported from the authoring organization indicated in parentheses or authored by the OHDSI Vocabulary Working Group. The vast majority of vocabularies containing medical facts and entities belong to the former, while OHDSI-authored vocabularies are either for administrative and organizational purposes for for areas poorly covered by the existing ontologies (RxNorm Extension, OMOP Genomic, Cancer Modifier, OMOP Extension).
There are several categories of status:
- Active: vocabulary can be used, date indicates the last refresh
- Active, outdated: vocabulary can be used, known to be out-of-date
- Retired: is not used in OMOP CDM, legacy
- Abandoned: vocabulary is out-of-date, use with caution
- Source is stable: The source stopped refreshing, and we have the most up-to-date content (regardless of the date of the last refresh)
- Administrative vocabulary: supporting vocabulary for OMOP CDM, is updated as needed
