Summary

Using modules/plugins and sometimes when creating pages, canonical urls are most of the time forgotten when not important. However they can heavily impact the indexing on search engines. This can ensure every page on the website can benefit the SEO

Drawbacks

When inspecting the source code, canonical url won't be null anymore as it will always fallback to the shop's base_url. Can be a drawback when debugging a module.
