Describe the bug

When clicking on the clamshell, then Shutdown..., and then selecting "Sleep", windows goes dark as if the laptop is going to sleep, but even closing the cover the laptop does not sleep but continues to run. The only way i've found to put it to Sleep is to enter the Lock screen, and select the Power icon at the botttom-right, and then select Sleep which then happens nearly instantaneously.
