I recently started using WiFi on my laptop, and now I have a problem that I can't identify other than it being related to WiFi. Namely, when I use WiFi at regular intervals at 16:00-16:30 local time or at 22:00-22:30, the XProtect service starts running, and the CPU gets so busy that I have to restart the computer. I have two other computers on the local network (not using WiFi), and this has never happened on them, nor on the laptop when using LAN. My only suspicion remains on AirportItlwm.kext versions 2.2.0 and 2.3.0. I don't want to accuse anyone, but something is not right. I compiled AirportItlwm.kext in both release and debug, used your build, and XProtect always activates at the specified time intervals. So, this doesn't happen on LAN (Intel) or on other computers in the network. I don't have any pirated software or any software not installed from the App Store. I scanned the computer with Kaspersky Lab Antivirus, and it found NOTHING, but the fact remains that when I use WiFi, the XProtect Service activates (CPU Load 350%!). I hope this has nothing to do with AirportItlwm.kext, but...

Which macOS version are you using? If it happens only in Sonoma, then it may be the same problem as with iMessage, and XProtect tries to connect to Apple servers but can't and enters an infinite loop.
