MacOS links to Adobe Flash page

When trying to use the Connector without having Java installed or accessible through the path a popup appears prompting the user to install a Java package. The popup has a "More info..." button which, when pressed, first leads to an oracle page, which is quickly redirected to a page requesting the install of Adobe Flash.

After some digging, the problem only appears when starting the Connector directly, manually running the start script from inside the installed application or using java leads to the same popup, but an up to date link to Java.
