Support for QGIS vector tile style #5
Comments
@saberraz I haven't had a chance to test the Vector Tiles yet (awesome work BTW), so not sure how the styling works. Would the standard QML files we have under the GeoPackage not work? |
Unfortunately not. The vector tile styling requires other tags and not completely compatible with geopackge qml styles. |
Hi @saberraz, ill take a look at this. Should be just a case of updating the QML files to match the attribution header fields within the VT's but is there anything else you've noticed that you think might not amending? |
Hi @egil1978 one thing we noticed is the size of the file. I think there are some duplicates. We have added vector tile writer to QGIS, so maybe it is worth running the VT creation algorithm in QGIS for a small subset of data and compare it with other methods you have created the layer. |
Hi @saberraz, have you ever had any problems with labelling vector tile data in QGIS? I am trying to replicate the styling rules for text that we have for our Vector Map Local GKPG format but in doing so I end up with one bit of text appearing on screen. If you take a look at this image the red points should be labelled but only one label is appearing? |
A big thank you to @cjmayo for creating QGIS styling support for OS Zoomstack Vector Tiles. 3 styles are now available via the repo in Outdoor, Night and Tritanopia. We will look at adding Road, Light and the other CVD versions shortly. |
QGIS (3.13+) supports vector tiles naively. It will be great to have QML styles for QGIS in addition to Mapbox.
