Before starting on this update, #670 is recommended to be finished.

I don't think adding non-technical dependencies like this is a good idea since it just discourages contributors from working on it.
Also some items from this list should definitely be done before finishing survival mode.

I've divided the list between minor and major changes. They can probably be tackled in order per list.
