If you experince the problem as in the title put the following line:
Add-PSSnapin "VMware.VimAutomation.Core"
at the beginning of the vsphere.ps1

I indeed modified this line
$vmguest = $_.Guest
as
$vmguest = [string]$_.Guest

because of type conversion error
