Some ideas on how to do this:

  • Add RSS release feeds of upstream git repositories or websites of the software we are using to #privacylx Matrix channel.
  • Create an issue automatically when a new release or an upgrade is available.

Better yet: create a pull request automatically, if possible. Like github's dependabot. In most of the cases it is just literally updating a version number in a file
