Customer reinstalled unplugged several times but still getting following error message. Appears to be an some sort of authentication error... what should we be looking...?
Customer has installed latest 1.0.1 and using ESX6.

So I've seen this happen when I sit on the login page for too long, surprisingly enough. I'd also suggest just checking that they're accessing Unplugged through the exact address they provided: if it's an FQDN, use that FQDN, and if it's an IP, use the IP (not a DNS entry routing to that IP). If both of those are answered I can try a bit of a deeper dive.
