USB serial has an uneasy relationship with various systems. Works fine on Windows and native Ubuntu18. Worked fine for me on a fresh Ubuntu20, but some people have to run an extra step. Works on WSL + Ubuntu 18. I have not tried VMWare player. Did try VirtualBox – I was not successful but other people were.

@timsaxe<https://github.com/timsaxe> What are you using for a VM? When using VMWare player, The USB-serial device does not enumerate on windows (Device desriptor fails to load)
