The bulma defaults, which are what the light theme more or less uses currently, are not that great at least for a site like this. I'm not really sure how to save it, but I should at least try to tweak the colors a bit after I'm happy with where dark theme is.

I'm probably going to try to better follow bulma's "intended" classes for the various elements, that will then apply their default light theme styling, rather than try making a "better" light theme that I'm not really interested in making (and that I'm pretty sure nobody is going to use anyway if we set dark as default again)
