As pointed out by shark_bloody in Firefox addon reviews, this addon in fact causes an increase in the CPU usage when opening a new tab.

Hello,
For me, in safe mode, opening a new tab seems to cause a ~20% increase in CPU usage and installing note taker doesn't seem to affect it that much.
However, I noticed that the CPU usage seems to increase more if Notification Badges are enabled in options, which makes sense because needs to load notes (and count the number of bullets). Other than the per-tab sidebar (which only triggers if the sidebar is opened), notification badges are the only thing in note taker that triggers when a new tab is created.

I'll see what I can do to make notification badges less resource intensive.

Do you have notification badges enabled? Does disabling it lower the impact for you? How much (approximately) does the CPU increase on new tab with and without the extension?

Thanks
