Welcome to the node-ptz-decoder wiki.

This tool is used to read in binary PTZ telemetry protocol data for CCTV cameras, decode the messages and display their meaning on screen. It also writes to a log file with the raw binary data and timestamps

It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux (including the Raspberry Pi) and works with a wide range of USB to RS485 adapters. I highly recommend USB to 485 adapters with transmit and receive status LEDs to show you visually when data is on the 485 bus
