Prerequisites

The required prerequisites that need to be set up before the workshop.

Language Support (for your language of choice):

• .Net Core

  • Install .NET Core
    • Version: 3.1
  • VSCode C# Extension

• Golang

  • Install Go
    • Minimum version: 1.14
  • VScode Go Extension

• Java

  • Install Java SDK through Oracle or OpenJDK
    • Version: 11.0.8
  • Apache Maven (https://maven.apache.org/install.html)
    • Minimum version: 3.6.3
  • VSCode Lombok Annotations Support
  • VSCode Java Extension Pack

All Languages:

• NodeJS

  • Install Node
  • Minimum versions: LTS 12.19.0 or Current 14.13.1

• Dapr

  • Install Dapr CLI
  • Install Dapr Runtime
  • Version: Latest v1.0

• Azure Subscription

  • Azure Portal
  • Subscription should have ability to create/manage AKS Clusters

• Azure CLI

  • Install CLI
  • Minimum version: 2.15.1

• Kubectl CLI

  • Install CLI
  • Minimum Version: 1.15.0

• Helm

  • Install Helm
  • Migrate from Helm 2 to Helm 3
  • Minimum version: 3.1.0

• Git

  • Install Git

• Docker

  • Install Docker for Mac
  • Install Docker for Windows
  • Install Docker for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) 2

• GitHub Account

  • GitHub Account

• Code Editor of choice (VSCode recommended)

  • Install VS Code
  • Dapr Extension
  • Yaml Extension
  • REST API Extension
  • Live Share Extension

• Rest Client (recommended)

  • Install Postman

• Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (optional)

  • Install WSL 2
