The error message indicates a generic, unknown error was returned by the session server, with no message attached (hence the displayed "null"). Ideally we could see what the non-blank "error" code is that triggers the exception to be thrown in the first place... |

Yeah, when I get this merged in I'll be updating the wiki with lots of information about this. Apparently some of this doesn't happen when using the Minecraft client ID, but that Minecraft Help article seems to suggest the multiplayer problem does occur. At the very least the launcher should tell you now when the child account isn't added to a family (that was a bug where the error code wasn't being parsed properly) |

It seems that 1.7.10 has some trouble creating a session when connecting to a server with Microsoft credentials; with the client displaying a "Failed to login: null" error message.
