SEB for Pear Assessment (formerly Edulastic) - blank white screen appears upon launching

Has anyone experienced this issue? I tried to look for past discussions about this - but couldn't find any. When a student launches the assessment, SEB opens up to a white screen. We have to quit in order to get out. mac OS is 12-15 (students are not all on same OS) - SEB version is 3.4.1

Recently, I got reports of white screens when starting SEB. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the corresponding log-files. @elowms : Do you have these log-files? Can you send them to the developers?

Hi there - I think we've determined that students need to update their macOS to a higher version than macOS 12 (Monterey). That seemed to have done the trick.
I also don't have log files. I can see if I can get them if that helps you?

Log files are often helpful, yes. It has to be the log file from the time that particular issue happened and in this case it would be great to also have a (smartphone) movie of what exactly happens on the screen.
To find log files, use the search icon in Finder and type in "org.safeexambrowser." which should already show you those files (see full file names with dates to determine which is the most current one).

I'll try to get some log files plus screen recordings.
I do know that updating the macOS appears to be "fixing" the issues. Does this align with any incremental updates that have been pushed?

In the log file I can see that the last page which seems to have been loaded had the URL "https://login.eduid.ch/idp/profile/SAML2/Redirect/SSO?execution=e1s6". Is it correct that students couldn't finish their Edu ID login? If this is reproducible, it would be helpful if they could film what exactly happens on the screen. Also important would be to know if all affected were using another login method (edu ID instead of AAI? Passkeys activated in edu ID? Were they from another institution participating in edu ID or AAI?).

Were URL filters used in those exam settings? Blocked URLs are only visible in logs when the log level "Debug" is used.

This was a student from our institution (ZHAW)
According to the student the login did work: "Ich kann mich mit switchID anmelden und mit dem Passwort die Prüfung freischalten, jedoch bleibt der Browser ohne Inhalt."
As far as your other questions are concerned, I have to find out... (I hope we'll get more informations from the student...)
