New version 3.1.0 crashes at startup, while 3.0.3 is OK

I am under Android 7.0 on a Samsung Galaxy A3-2016
I have installed Sudoku (a long time ago) from F-Droid
My previous version was 3.0.3 that worked perfectly

Recently, F-Droid proposed me to upgrade to 3.1.0
After upgrade , new version systematically crashes at startup (even after completely restarted the smartphone)

I completely un-installed it, and re-installed (manually) 3.0.3 : Works fine again
I then re-updated to 3.1.0 with F-Droid : same issue, 3.1.0 crashes systematically at startup.

Even if I have manually downgraded to 3.0.3, that allow me to play again, it would be great to have the latest version to work fine....
