There seems to be a mismatch in class labels :

I've noticed a "background" category with 300 examples that wasn't part of my dataset.

Could you help clarify how it's being used or point me to the relevant code?

I am training on a new dataset with 11 classes, and I'm concerned that the model might be receiving incorrect labels during training.

Can you show me the meta information (category and id) of your dataset and the custom dataset definition?
